S Group preparing for the future of transportation

InnoHeap has completed its first major consulting assignment for S Group. The assignment focused on assessing the impacts of energy transformation and new alternative power sources for transportation.

S Group is a customer-owned Finnish network of companies in the retail and service sectors, with retail sales for 2023 totaling EUR 14.2 billion and approximately 40,000 employees. S Group has around 2,000 outlets in Finland and offers services in the supermarket trade, the department store and specialty store trade, service station store and fuel sales, the travel industry, and the hospitality business, as well as comprehensive banking services through S-Bank.

SOK, which is owned by the cooperatives, serves as the central company for the cooperatives and provides them with procurement, expert, and support services. SOK is also responsible for the strategic guidance of S Group and the development of various chains, including the ABC service station chain. ABC chain covers the following business areas: grocery stores, restaurants, car washes, fuels retail and EV-charging services. Through its subsidiaries, SOK is also engaged in the travel and hospitality business in Estonia, among other operations.
